Brennan Robin, recognized as the fastest distance runner in Louisiana, has made a significant decision regarding his athletic future. The standout from Parkway High School has announced that he will sign with Oklahoma State University, home to the top-ranked cross country program in the NCAA, during the upcoming signing period in November.
Robin, who was named the 2026 Shreveport Times All-Metro Outstanding Track Athlete, expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Cowboys after a recent visit to the campus. "I visited OSU last weekend and instantly knew that it was where I wanted to run collegiately," Robin shared with the USA TODAY Network. He praised the culture in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and noted the team's consistent dominance in the sport.
Last year, Robin established himself as a formidable competitor by clocking the fastest 3200-meter time in the state at 8:54.28. He also ranked as the second-fastest in the 1,600 meters, earning him All-State recognition from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA). Notably, Robin shattered records in Shreveport-Bossier history, becoming the first runner to break the 9-minute barrier in the 3,200 meters. His impressive performance at the Running Lane National Championships, where he finished third with a time of 8:46, marked the fastest time ever recorded by a Louisiana junior and the second-fastest in state history.
Under the guidance of coach Kent Falting at Parkway, Robin has honed his skills and emerged as a top recruit. Falting commented on Robin's achievements, stating, "Brennan is actually the No. 6 overall recruit in his class based on 1,600 and 3,200 times going into the summer. I couldn’t be more proud of Brennan for all the hard work and dedication, and I’m so excited to see him capture his dream. Now, we’re going back to the lab to help him get a few more goals before he heads to Stillwater." This fall, Robin will continue to compete as a member of the Parkway Panthers, with a spring track season also on the horizon.
Looking ahead to his future at Oklahoma State, Robin is optimistic about the development opportunities the program offers. He remarked, "The coaches promote long-term development, and all the athletes on the team are bought into that. I believe that at OSU, I’ll become the best runner I can be."
