The Big Ten and SEC made big moves on Tuesday.
Both conferences announced that professional players aren’t allowed to return to college. Both conferences voted unanimously on the ban.
According to On3’s Wilson Alexander, any SEC school that violates the rule will result in head coaches being suspended for half the season, a loss of half of the sport’s annual operating budget, and revocation of voting privileges on business matters.

Any Big Ten school that violates the rule will result in its head coach being suspended for half of its remaining games and an undisclosed fine.
ESPN’s Paul Finebaum saw the news and is glad that both conferences have acted accordingly.
“I think the Big Ten and the SEC have acted correctly,” Finebaum said on Wednesday. “You just cannot let all of this happen without saying something, especially when they believe, Kimberley, that they have the right to mete out penalties.”
Finebaum is correct, and it won’t be long until the ACC and Big 12 likely follow suit. Even Notre Dame, which isn’t even in a conference in college football, is opposed to adding NFL players, per Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports.
This has been one crazy offseason, and there are still a few more days before the season starts. Let’s see what else happens.
