Paulo Victor, the head coach of Brazil's U-20 National Team, recently attended the final match of the Brasileiro Sub-20 Championship, where Vasco defeated Palmeiras 2-0 to claim their first title. Victor took this opportunity to commend the overall quality of the tournament and its significance in scouting and developing young talent for Brazil's national squad.

During the match at Nubank Parque, Victor expressed his belief that the final encapsulated the high competitive standard of the championship. He emphasized that the event provided an excellent platform for the U-20 National Team's coaching staff to evaluate players in a demanding environment. "I think this game, this final, crowns the brilliant Brazilian Championship, this brilliant competition that we have at our disposal to observe these athletes in a competitive context of the highest level," Victor stated.

Victor also acknowledged the support provided by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to the clubs participating in the tournament. He noted that the excellent travel and accommodation arrangements allowed teams to focus on their performance, thus enhancing the overall quality of youth football in Brazil. "It is a championship that the CBF offers to clubs with a very high level of excellence when it comes to travel conditions, accommodations, everything first-class so that we can foster Brazilian football in its youth categories, in the U-20 category, in the U-17 category," he explained.

The atmosphere at the final, attended by nearly 30,000 fans, was another point of emphasis for Victor. He believes that playing in front of such a large crowd provides invaluable experience for young players and allows the coaching staff to better assess their capabilities. "For us, being able to observe matches at this level, in a stadium of this level, with a crowd of 30,000 people, I think it greatly enhances what we can see in the player," he remarked.

In addition to praising the competition, Victor took a moment to recognize the efforts of the professionals involved in organizing the tournament. He highlighted the collaboration between the CBF's competitions department and the youth national teams, which has been crucial for the success of the event. "We made great use of this competition. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the competitions department, represented by Julio Avellar, and all the professionals responsible for delivering yet another competition of this level," he said.

Victor's commitment to closely monitoring youth tournaments stems from a broader mission to expand the scouting network and prepare Brazil's national teams for future challenges. He concluded by reiterating the importance of strengthening youth football in Brazil. "That’s the job. I think we have to be here, we have to be present, with only one objective, which is to strengthen our youth football, strengthen our youth national teams, to put Brazil in the place it deserves," he stated.
