PSG rescue another point after drawing with Lille

On matchday two of Ligue 1, Paris Saint Germain had to dig deep to salvage another draw, with Luis Enrique's side coming from two goals down away to Lille to earn a 2-2 result.

PSG went into this one without influential players, including Nuno Mendes or João Neves, the French and European champions are still some way off their best at the start of the season.

The game began with promising chances for both sides, and Lille were the first to score. Hákon Haraldsson, set up in style by veteran Giroud, opened the scoring on the break.

Unable to break down the opposition’s organisation, the visitors' task became even harder in the 84th minute after a fine goal from substitute Dilane Bakwa.

PSG were desperate for inspiration, and Vitinha stepped up. The Portuguese midfielder pulled one back with a superb left-footed strike and, in stoppage time, delivered the cross for Marquinhos to power home the equaliser.

As a result, the Ligue 1 side now have two draws from this season’s competition, two points fewer than Lille.
