The Baltimore Ravens are trading rookie offensive tackle Diego Pounds to the Kansas City Chiefs, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport. The compensation Baltimore will receive has not been reported yet.
Pounds joined the Ravens as an undrafted free agent after starting 32 games during his college career at North Carolina and Mississippi. The 6-foot-6 tackle weighs approximately 330 pounds and quickly emerged as one of Baltimore’s most impressive rookies during training camp and the preseason.
Pro Football Focus gave Pounds a 90.9 overall grade through Baltimore’s first two exhibition games, making him the NFL’s highest-graded offensive lineman during that stretch. He did not surrender a sack, hit or pressure across 15 pass-blocking snaps and earned a 91.1 run-blocking grade.

His performance created a difficult roster decision for the Ravens, who are attempting to settle on their final group of offensive linemen. Instead of exposing Pounds to waivers during roster reductions, Baltimore converted its depth into an undisclosed return through the trade. Kansas City acquires a developmental tackle with impressive size, starting experience and encouraging preseason film. Pounds will now attempt to secure a place on the Chiefs’ offensive line as they complete their initial 53-man roster.
The trade also provides additional clarity for Baltimore. Ronnie Stanley and Roger Rosengarten lead the Ravens’ offensive tackle group, while the remaining reserve linemen continue competing for backup positions.
Pounds arrived in Baltimore without being selected in the 2026 NFL draft, but his preseason performance ensured the Ravens would not lose him without receiving something in return. He will continue his rookie season with one of Baltimore’s longtime AFC rivals.
