Real Madrid respond to Trent Alexander-Arnold-Liverpool return links

La Liga giants Real Madrid have late this week moved to shut down any and all speculation linking Trent Alexander-Arnold with an imminent departure from the club.

This comes amid the assurance that the England international maintains a central role in the plans of Los Blancos moving forward.

For those not aware, surprise rumours linking Alexander-Arnold with a move back to the Premier League with former employers Liverpool surfaced online this week.

Amid the Reds’ ongoing struggles to source a long-term replacement for the 27-year-old, it has been suggested that they could seek out what would be a shock reunion.

Not only that, but with Alexander-Arnold having been forced to make do with a place on the bench for both of Real Madrid’s first two La Liga fixtures of the season, it was hinted that an approach could be made with a view to an immediate transfer.

As alluded to above, however, almost as quickly as they surfaced, such claims have today been firmly denied. As per a report from Goal, citing English outlet TEAMtalk:

‘Real Madrid have firmly dismissed speculation surrounding the immediate future of Trent Alexander-Arnold. Despite swirling rumours of a shock return to Liverpool, club sources indicate that a departure is completely off the agenda. Los Blancos remain fully committed to the England international.’
