After a sixth-inning blast by Shay Whitcomb, the San Francisco Giants' third two-run home run of their series finale against the Cincinnati Reds, Reds.TV analyst and former pitcher Jeff Brantley suggested that the Reds were facing a Triple-A team.
"I would think that the San Francisco Giants have got to be happy," Brantley said during the broadcast. "They've basically brought their team up from Sacramento and they're hitting the ball."
Brantley added during the seventh inning that the Reds also were punished throughout the series by the most dangerous bat they faced.
"I would say that you could look at all of these lineups that the Giants have run out there," Brantley added during the seventh inning. "And it would take you less than three seconds to say, 'What guy do I not want to beat us in this series.' That would be Rafael Devers."
Devers homered in each of the three games of the series.
"This has just been a demoralizing day and series," play-by-play announcer John Sadak said, before the Reds' ninth-inning rally.
"This has been a nightmare series for the Reds in San Francisco," Brantley added, also before the rally.
