The Chicago Bears have reportedly had trade discussions involving former second-round defensive tackle Gervon Dexter, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. He added that "there are multiple scenarios where a deal could get done sending him to a new team."
Dexter, 24, started all 17 games last season for Chicago, and he's totaled 13.5 sacks and 42 QB hits in his career. He's in the final year of his rookie contract.
Considering the lack of depth already along the defensive line, unless the Bears are getting substantial compensation, it doesn't make sense to trade Dexter.
More to come.
