The Rogers County Football Forecast returned for its third season this week, ushering in the 2026 high school football season with a new co-host, Week Zero picks and predictions for what lies ahead for teams throughout the county.

Claremore Daily Progress sports editor Kevin Green is joined this season by Christian Potts, a veteran of Oklahoma high school athletics who is entering his 32nd year around the state's prep sports scene.

The two wasted little time diving into what could be an intriguing season across Rogers County.

The season premiere examines all four games involving county teams in Week Zero, including the marquee matchup between Claremore and Sallisaw, along with Inola's rivalry game against Sequoyah and Chelsea's opener against Quapaw.

Green and Potts also discuss Foyil's matchup with Bluejacket, where the Panthers will begin the season without injured starting quarterback Kaige Baxter.

Once the Week Zero previews are finished, the Forecast expands its scope to the entire season.

Green and Potts go team by team, offering their final record predictions for a handful of local teams and identifying the games they believe could ultimately determine whether each Rogers County program reaches its ceiling.

With several Oklahoma teams beginning their seasons earlier than usual, Green and Potts discuss another potential factor that could show up Friday: conditioning.

Heat restrictions and limited practice opportunities have complicated preseason preparation, making cramps and fatigue potential concerns during the opening weeks.

The episode also marks the beginning of the "Friday Is Spoken For" Tour, which will follow the Progress' football coverage throughout the season. The first stop takes Green to Sallisaw for Claremore's opener against the Black Diamonds.
