The New Orleans Saints lost Jordyn Tyson for much of the upcoming 2026 season, as he could potentially be out through the Saints' Week 8 bye.

He could return before then, but his injury is all but guaranteed to keep him out for the first few weeks. That means Chris Olave is going to have a lot on his plate. But at practice Tuesday, the Saints got a scare.

Katherine Terrell of ESPN reports that Olave fell trying to make a catch at the end of practice and was slow to get up and didn't return for the final few plays of practice. But fortunately, Terrell shared an update from Kellen Moore that was good news.

"Chris Olave was slow to get up after attempting to catch a deep pass at the end of practice," Terrell reports. "He walked down the sidelines with athletic trainers and left practice, which ended a few plays later."

This is, of course, a big concern for the Saints. Seeing their No. 1 WR, who they just spent a lot of money to sign to a long-term extension, go down with an injury at practice is always a bad thing.

However, during his post-practice press conference, Moore revealed some good news to Terrell and other reporters about Olave.

"Kellen Moore said Chris Olave landed hard on his back," Terrell reports. "When asked if he's ok, he said he got the wind knocked out of him. Asked if there was any further testing or cause for concern, Moore said the medical staff did not say anything regarding that."

This is obviously not a good situation for the Saints or Olave to be in. He's had a history of injury issues, and with Tyson already out for a while, this is not a good look.

But Moore's update on the star receiver indicates that he should be okay, and that this injury might not be as severe as it might've seemed initially.

After catching 100 passes for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns last season, all career-highs, Olave is poised for another big year in 2026 with Tyler Shough. Fortunately for the second-year QB and head coach, this Olave injury doesn't appear to be serious.
