Scottie Scheffler comments on what Ludvig Aberg is really like as a playing partner

Scottie Scheffler played alongside Ludvig Aberg during the second round of the Tour Championship on Friday.

Scheffler posted a solid second-round 67, while Aberg carded a 68 at East Lake.

The 30-year-old world number one is just two strokes adrift of the lead heading into the weekend, with the Swede a further shot back.

While Scottie Scheffler and Ludvig Aberg would both prefer to be leading, they will be happy with their positions after two rounds of the Tour Championship.

Aberg enjoyed playing with Scheffler on day two at the Tour Championship, with both players moving at a good pace around East Lake.

Now Scheffler has opened up on what Aberg is like to play alongside.

Scheffler spoke to the media at East Lake late on Friday night after a practice session alongside his coach Randy Smith.

The world number one was asked what Ludvig Aberg was like to play with on day two of the Tour Championship.

“He’s an easy guy to get paired with,“ Scheffler replied.

“He’s a really nice guy. He’s a great competitor, good player as well. He’s always very easy to be on the golf course with.

“It’s pretty simple to be paired with him.“

Scheffler is paired with Cam Young for the third round of the Tour Championship, while Aberg will play alongside Adam Scott.

Scottie Scheffler comments on his opening tee shots at East Lake this week

Scheffler has missed both tee shots out to the right on the opening hole this week, and has been forced to lay up both times on the long par-four.

During the final round of the Tour Championship in 2025, Scheffler actually hit his opening drive out of bounds to the left.

And he was asked after his second round yesterday if the right miss is now in his head.

“I mean, there’s an out-of-bounds fence on the left,“ he said.

“Didn’t really hit too bad of a shot there. Then you get a lie there that you can’t advance more than 80 yards.

“No, I wouldn’t say anything is in my head out there. Thank you, though.“
