The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded running back Kaleb Johnson to the Green Bay Packers. The former third-round pick thanked the Steelers in a post on his Instagram story and acknowledged the move to Green Bay.
“Appreciate it Steelers nation,” Johnson writes. “Let’s do it Packers.”
The trade has been confirmed by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, though the compensation is unknown at the time of writing.
Johnson was drafted in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Steelers, but totaled just 28 carries for 69 yards as a rookie. He was noticeably behind fellow running backs Lew Nichols and Travis Homer throughout training camp and preseason in terms of carries and usage. Now, the former Iowa Hawkeye gets a fresh start in Green Bay.
