New York Giants fans are among the most affected by the aftereffects of Sunday NFL games, according to a new survey that examined the impact of football on Monday mornings. The survey, which included responses from 2,004 fans, revealed that 25.4 percent of Giants supporters experience disruptions at work following game day, placing them seventh in the league for workday interruptions.

The survey, known as the Monday Morning Recovery Index, assessed various factors including spending on recovery, levels of tiredness, work disruptions, and overall productivity. Giants fans reported that their Monday routines are significantly impacted by the previous day's game, with over one in twelve admitting to taking a paid time off day after a football Sunday.

Common recovery habits among Giants fans include ordering breakfast to-go, with 35.6 percent opting for this quick fix to combat fatigue. Additionally, 35 percent of fans reported consuming extra coffee, while 27.1 percent turned to energy drinks to help them power through their workday. These habits reflect a greater challenge faced by Giants fans compared to the league average; overall, about 20.5 percent of NFL fans reported work disruptions after Sunday games.

The financial implications of these recovery habits are notable as well. On average, fans spend approximately $90.61 on recovery each Monday throughout the NFL regular season. This figure highlights the extent to which fans are willing to invest in their recovery process after an exciting weekend of football.

Leading the survey in overall work disruption were fans of the Los Angeles Chargers, while Miami Dolphins supporters reported the highest rate of work interruptions at 45.8 percent. These statistics underscore the shared experiences among NFL fans, particularly those whose teams are deeply entrenched in their local culture.

The survey was conducted in August, just ahead of the NFL's regular season kickoff, which is set to begin next Wednesday. For Giants fans, their first significant test will come on September 13, when they host the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium for Sunday Night Football. As the season unfolds, it will be interesting to see how these trends develop and whether Giants fans continue to experience the same level of disruption on Mondays.
