Henry completed 33 of 47 attempts, throwing four touchdown passes and adding two rushing touchdowns in a dominant 43-6 win.
For his outstanding performance, Henry was honored as the Dayton Daily News Athlete of the Week, an accolade presented by the Orthopaedic Institute of Dayton for the week of August 24-30. The recognition was determined through reader voting on the Dayton Daily News website, highlighting the impact of his achievement on the local sports community.
Reflecting on his nomination, Henry expressed his desire to achieve back-to-back honors, having previously won the award in October 2025. He credited his offensive line for their exceptional performance, stating, "We dominated up front, I don’t think I got sacked, and our [offensive] line did a great job. Our receivers are just really talented and dominated too." This teamwork was evident in their commanding performance against Northwestern.
Henry's journey as Greenon's starting quarterback has been marked by significant growth. In his previous season, he approached 2,000 passing yards while maintaining an impressive three-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio. “Just the calmness now, you know last year having learned everything and repping it more, I’m now able to see the field better, make smarter, quicker decisions and I think that’s all really helped us,” Henry commented, highlighting his development as a player. His increased experience has also translated into a leadership role on the team, where he embraces the responsibility of making critical decisions during games.
Henry's aspirations extend beyond personal accolades; he aims to inspire future generations of Knights. He recalls his childhood memories of watching the Greenon team in 2019, which had its best record in nearly four decades but fell short of postseason play. This experience fuels his determination to achieve success this season and set a positive example for upcoming players.
“We really wanted to win the OHC South last year,” he reflected. “Felt like we could have, and we didn’t. That’s actually been inspiring and what’s driving us to reach that goal this year.” With Henry at the helm, the Greenon Knights are poised to make a significant impact this season, driven by a collective desire to succeed and leave a lasting legacy.
