Tenino Beavers Secure Narrow Victory Over Rainier Mountaineers

The Tenino Beavers kicked off their season with a hard-fought 19-14 victory against the Rainier Mountaineers on September 5 at Rainier High School. Quarterback Evan Morey connected with Easton Miller for a 16-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, which set the tone for the Beavers. In the second quarter, running back Mason Metcalf added a 2-yard rushing touchdown, followed by another touchdown run from Metcalf in the third quarter, this time from 4 yards out, with a successful extra point kick.

However, the Beavers' performance was marred by a staggering 21 penalties and four turnovers, which allowed the Mountaineers to remain competitive. Rainier, struggling to find rhythm in the early stages of the game, mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter.
