Super Bowl LXI is set to take place in February 2027, and Opta’s supercomputer shows how likely each NFL team is to win it.
The Seattle Seahawks go into the 2026/27 NFL season as the defending champions after they beat the New England Patriots 29-13 earlier this year.
A repeat of that game will kick off the upcoming regular NFL season on September 9, but neither team is currently named as the favourite to clinch the Super Bowl at next year’s event.

They give them a 14.4% chance of doing so, which is nearly double that of any other team in the NFL.
The Patriots, after tasting defeat earlier in 2026, are the second most likely to win the Super Bowl in February next year (7.5% chance).
Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars (6.7%), the Philadelphia Eagles (5.9%) and the Detroit Lions (5.5%) round out the top five.
As for 2026’s winners, the Seahawks are currently ranked as the ninth-most likely team to win the Super Bowl (4.1% chance) in 2027.
Elsewhere, Opta’s supercomputer thinks the New York Giants have the lowest chance (0.1%), while the Kansas City Chiefs, who have made it to the Super Bowl in five of the last seven years, have a 1.4% chance of winning it next year.
