Top Barcelona target beginning to accept Premier League route as deadline day nears

It has been an eventful day in the Julian Alvarez transfer saga, both from Barcelona’s end and from Atletico Madrid’s end. Not to mention, the player himself played a part in it by skipping training.

At this point, the bridges between Alvarez and Atletico Madrid seem to be broken beyond repair and it is difficult to see the player continue at the club under any circumstance.

Concurrently, however, the bridges between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid also seem completely broken, severely complicating any chance of the player ending up at his dream club.

Los Rojiblancos are reportedly open to selling the player to Arsenal, whose proposal he has already rejected in the past. With under a week remaining, however, there is a possibility that he succumbs to the pressure.

As reported by MARCA in a recent update, the player is now beginning to slowly realise that Arsenal may be his only exit route from Atletico Madrid, especially after how the club has conducted itself in recent days.

He is beginning to come to terms with the fact that his dream of joining Barcelona may remain a dream forever and that forcing the move is near-impossible.

His agent, Fernando Hidalgo, has been pushing for the player to sign for Barcelona for a long time now and continues to work in that direction. After the humiliation Alvarez faced at the Metropolitano earlier this week, however, the player is beginning to reconcile.

Atletico Madrid insist that they will keep the player and win back his loyalty, but they demand that he cuts ties with his agent Fernando Hidalgo and apologises to the club.

That has indeed become more difficult after the events at the Metropolitano and how the club handled his entire situation.

Notably, however, Alvarez has been seen more with his second agent Sergio in recent days and Hidalgo’s role has receded into the background. That could again be a sign of the player opening up to alternative departures.

The coming week will be crucial in deciding the player’s future. Barcelona are beginning to give up hope, but maintain that it is Alvarez or no one. A lot depends on how the coming week will pan out.
