NEW YORK, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A former Chenango Valley Warrior took to the baseball field for the first time in a New York Yankees uniform.
Justin Topa made his debut in the Pinstripes last night.
He came into the ballgame to pitch the last two innings against the Houston Astros.
The last time he pitched in the majors was also against the Astros on May 18 for the Minnesota Twins.
Through the two innings, Topa would give up two hits and one walk while striking out two in the 9th with the bases loaded.
He did give up one run, but it was not earned.
The Yankees would fall to Houston, 5-1.
