Truro City sign former Championship striker Bogle

Truro City have signed former Championship striker Omar Bogle on a one-year contract.

The 33-year-old joins having been released by League Two side Crewe Alexandra in the summer after spending two seasons at the Mornflake Stadium, scoring nine goals in 49 appearances.

Bogle's career has included spells at Wigan Athletic, Cardiff City, Birmingham City, Portsmouth, Charlton Athletic and Newport County where he scored 19 times in 54 games in the 2022-23 season.

He said he hoped to use his 10 years of EFL experience to bring "goals and excitement" to fans.

"Having spoken to the gaffer (John Askey), about the plans the club has got, it was important for me at the stage of my life and career, to join a project," Bogle told the club website.

"This club has been building for the last few years and the gaffer really sold it to me.

"From me personally, I hope the fans will see goals, excitement and I like to express myself when I am on the pitch."
