Tyler Biadasz, the center for the Los Angeles Chargers, has been acknowledged as one of the premier players at his position as the 2026 NFL season approaches. Pro Football Focus (PFF) has placed him ninth in their rankings of NFL centers, highlighting his significance to the Chargers' offensive line.
After being unexpectedly released by the Washington Commanders in February, Biadasz quickly found a new home with the Chargers, who were looking to bolster their offensive line. According to Mason Cameron of PFF, the Chargers recognized the need for stability in the interior line, and Biadasz fits that requirement well. Cameron noted, "Biadasz didn’t spend long on the open market following his surprise release in February before the Chargers scooped him up to solidify one of their biggest offseason needs."
While Biadasz may not be the flashiest blocker in the league, his performance has shown consistent improvement. He achieved the highest overall PFF grade of his career in 2025, scoring 70.8, which speaks to his growing impact on the field. His ranking is notable, especially considering he trails behind only a few other centers, including Hjalte Froholdt of the Arizona Cardinals, Connor McGovern of the Buffalo Bills, and Erik McCoy of the New Orleans Saints.
In his new role with the Chargers, Biadasz is expected to take over as the starting center, joining a revamped interior offensive line that has undergone significant changes this offseason. The Chargers secured Biadasz with a three-year, $30 million contract shortly after his release, a move that reflects their commitment to enhancing their offensive front.
Biadasz brings with him a wealth of experience, having earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2022 while playing for the Dallas Cowboys. At 28 years old, he is poised to provide not only stability and protection for quarterback Justin Herbert but also veteran leadership alongside tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt.
In addition to Biadasz, the Chargers have signed Cole Strange, who is set to fill the right guard position. However, the starting left guard spot remains uncertain, with five players currently competing for the role. As the Chargers prepare for the 2026 season, the integration of Biadasz into the lineup will be crucial as they aim to strengthen their offensive capabilities.
