The U-17 team achieved an impressive 6-0 victory against Sporting CP of Portugal on Wednesday, November 2, at the Sergio León Municipal Stadium in Spain, during the second round of the FIFA Youth Club World Cup. This commanding win was marked by goals from Brenno, Kauã Daniel, Kauã Edmar, Robert, Zabarelli, and an own goal from a Sporting defender.
From the outset, the Tricolor squad demonstrated their dominance, controlling play effectively throughout the first half. His influence continued as he assisted Kauã Daniel for the second goal in the 36th minute, further solidifying the team's lead.
The second half saw the U-17 team escalate their performance into a rout. Just three minutes after the restart, Kauã Edmar capitalized on a defensive error by Sporting, intercepting the ball and scoring the third goal. Shortly after, in the 47th minute, Robert converted a penalty kick following a foul on Aguilar in the box, extending the lead to four goals.
In the 53rd minute, the Tricolor added another goal when Zabarelli scored from a rebound after the defense failed to clear the ball effectively. The final blow came in the 58th minute when a Sporting defender inadvertently scored an own goal, bringing the score to a staggering 6-0.
In addition to their impressive performance in regulation, the U-17 team also excelled in the subsequent shootout for the extra point, successfully converting all their penalties to win 3-2.
