Nurmagomedov (20-1) enters his second UFC main event on the heels of back-to-back decision wins over Mario Bautista and Deiveson Figueiredo. The 30-year-old's lone career defeat came in his first UFC title shot against then-champion Merab Dvalishvili in January 2025.
Song (23-9-1, 1 NC) returns to action after scoring a submission win over Figueiredo in May. The 28-year-old Chinese contender has won two of his past three fights, sandwiching victories over Figueiredo and former champion Henry Cejudo around a decision loss to Sean O'Malley.
UFC Shanghai starts at 3 a.m. ET with a seven-fight preliminary card on Paramount+. The six-fight main card kicks off at 6 a.m. ET on Paramount+.
