Victor Osimhen has decided to stay at Galatasaray despite strong interest from Arsenal

Arsenal target Victor Osimhen has decided to stay at Galatasaray beyond this summer despite strong interest from the Gunners, according to French outlet Foot Mercato. Mikel Arteta has the Nigerian on his wishlist as the North London club are desperate to bring a new striker to the Emirates Stadium club. Arsenal have Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez on their radar, but signing the Argentine has proven tricky all summer as he wants to join Barcelona. The Gunners have other striking targets in mind but Osimhen has no plans on leaving the Super Lig this summer.

He is excited with the project at the club, with the imminent arrival of Portuguese attacker Rafael Leao from AC Milan playing a key role in his decision. Arsenal will now hope to clinch a deal for Alvarez, but Manchester City are keen on bringing him back following the departure of Omar Marmoush. They also have Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on their radar, with a potential loan deal mooted for the England international. However, the Englishman is unlikely to leave the Red Devils temporarily again and manager Michael Carrick appears keen on giving him a chance.

The Gunners have bolstered their attack with the recruitment of Greek attacker Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge.

Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes will also be expected to contribute in the final third given his record in front of goal in the Premier League.

English defender Ezri Konsa and French goalkeeper Illan Meslier have been added to the defence, while Piero Hincapie has joined permanently after spending last season on loan with Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen.

Arteta could do with one more signing in attack and fans will hope one arrives before next Tuesday’s deadline.
