We're a week into the season and already the impressive numbers are in late-season form.

Many of those performances fueled this week's Times Recorder/Tribune Football Player of the Week.

Here is a look at the nominees, in alphabetical order:

  • Tanner Bankes, Morgan RB -- Carried 25 times for 209 yards with 3 TDs in 35-32 win vs. Marietta.
  • Drew Dorsey, Crooksville RB -- Had 14 carries for 153 yards in first-career start in loss to Newcomerstown
  • Kason Hazlett, Zanesville QB -- Had 20 carries for 82 yards, threw 23-yard TD pass in 30-13 win vs. Maysville to snap 26-game losing streak.
  • Kash Murphy, Coshocton DB -- 3 INTs in 24-21 comeback win vs. Richmond Edison
  • Jase Ritchey, John Glenn RB -- Compiled 137 yards rushing, including a 94-yard touchdown, in varsity debut vs. Barnesville.
  • Slade Sprankle, Philo RB -- Ran 40 times for school-record 342 yards with 6 TDs in win vs. Heath.
  • Leevi Wade, Tri-Valley RB -- Ran 26 times for 332 yards in home win vs. Meadowbrook
  • Jake Welch, West M QB -- Hit on 10 of 11 passes for 238 yards and 2 TDs in win vs. Lakewood
  • Logan Wince, Ridgewood WR/RB -- 104 yards rushing, 23 yards receiving in loss to Fort Frye
