This victory marked a strong start for the Bearcats, who demonstrated both offensive firepower and resilience despite some early setbacks.
The game began with a quick strike from the Bearcats, as quarterback Wyatt Hoffman connected with Jay Bieker for a 46-yard touchdown pass, putting W.F. West ahead early. Following a defensive stop that forced a Peninsula punt, the Bearcats extended their lead with a 3-yard touchdown run from Constantine Robertson. The Seahawks managed to respond with a defensive touchdown, as Kainoa Coit returned a fumble 20 yards to the end zone, narrowing the gap to 14-7.
However, the Bearcats quickly regained control of the game, with Hoffman throwing two more touchdown passes in the second quarter—one to Bieker and another to Brendan Stevens—bringing the halftime score to 28-7. W.F. West's offense was firing on all cylinders, amassing a total of 290 passing yards and 444 yards of total offense by the end of the game.
Despite a few turnovers and a rough start to the second half, the Bearcats showcased their ability to bounce back. "I feel like the biggest thing about this year's team is that we've created a nice brotherhood that everybody is there to pick each other up when somebody makes a mistake," he said.
