Phenix City kept Alabama's first Little League World Series run in 27 years alive with a win over Tacoma, Washington Tuesday, avenging the loss that opened its stay in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Tacoma handed Alabama a 2-0 defeat in extra innings of the first game of the tournament, unknowingly sparking a Cinderella run-of-sorts for the squad from Phenix City. The teams met again six days later with much more at stake in the elimination side of the bracket, but this time, Alabama won 4-2.

The journey continues for Alabama on Wednesday, August 26, at 6 p.m. CT in Lamade Stadium, where Phenix City will face the winner of the Tuesday evening matchup between West Side Little League (Hamilton, Ohio) and Bayonne Central Little League (Bayonne, New Jersey), respectively.

To advance to the U.S. championship on Saturday, August 29, Alabama must collect two more wins.

The LLWS runs from Wednesday, Aug. 19 to Aug. 30. Representing the Southeast, Phenix City will play for the third day in a row on Wednesday, August 26.

Phenix City will play either the Great Lakes representative − West Side Little League (Hamilton, Ohio) − or the Metro representative − Bayonne Central Little League (Bayonne, New Jersey) − for its fourth game of the LLWS.

Phenix City will play at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday, August 26.

All LLWS games will be televised on ESPN, which can be streamed via ESPN+ and Fubo.
