The WNBA playoffs are just around the corner and with about a month left in the regular season, the race for the MVP is heating up. The top candidates are A’ja Wilson, Olivia Miles, Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark.
Wilson and Clark’s former teammate Sydney Colson delved into the MVP race during a Yahoo! Sports podcast on Thursday. The two-time WNBA champion backed Wilson over the other candidates.
Colson believes that people sometimes get “greatness fatigue,” growing bored of seeing the same player win. However, she thinks this will not happen with Wilson as there are not many players like her.
Fans reacted to Colson’s strong belief that Wilson will win her fifth MVP award.
“Why would you pick a CC hater as your guest? She’s irrelevant,” one fan said.
A’ja Wilson is averaging 26 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists. She has the best odds (-1000) to win the MVP.

She also said that both superstars know how to take advantage of their opportunities and make the best of their situations in order to find success.
