Carlos Baleba’s first words as a Manchester United player will be music to the ears of the Old Trafford faithful.
The Cameroonian’s move from Brighton and Hove Albion was officially announced on Tuesday evening, spelling the end of United’s much-needed midfield rebuild.

Reacting on Instagram to the switch, he said: “Excited to be joining this club. It’s a dream to be able to play for @/manutd

However, Brighton blocked any potential exit, making it clear he was off-limits for the entirety of 2025/2026.
Although his form faltered throughout the term – with manager Fabian Hurzeler citing United’s approach as a potential reason why – INEOS maintained their desire to sign the youngster this time around.

The Red Devils ignited their pursuit over a week ago, and it didn’t take too long before a £70 million package was agreed, which sees United pay £65m upfront.
Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier in the window that Baleba had been actively pushing to seal his dream move, so he’ll be delighted that it’s now signed and sealed.
