Aaron Glenn sends Jets kicker Jason Sanders strong message after misses

The New York Jets made a decision on their kicker.

Has that plan changed? It's something to keep an eye out for as the NFL's roster deadline day.

On Sunday, every team in the league must be down to 53 players. The Jets started their path to that by cutting kicker Cade York last week. Veteran Jason Sanders was then named the starter by special teams coordinator Chris Banjo.

Then came disaster.

Sanders has been shaky humself all summer. In the Jets' preseason finale against the New York Giants, that continued with a missed extra point and kick of 54 yards that wasn't even close to being long enough.

In wake of, head coach Aaron Glenn was not happy. His words sent a strong message to Sanders.

"I didn't like the fact that we missed these field goals," Glenn said. "We're not going to panic and we're going to make sure we make the right decision."

Glenn did express confidence in Sanders as well. It still remains to be seen what the Jets do. Could the team target another kicker when other teams start cutting players ahead of Sunday's roster deadline?
