The American Family Insurance Championship will continue in Madison for the next few years, and the popular PGA Tour Champions event will also return to a familiar course.
The American Family Insurance Championship and PGA Tour Champions announced Aug. 26 that the tournament will remain in Madison through 2030. The sides also said that the American Family Insurance Championship will return to University Ridge Golf Course in 2027.
Next year's competition will be held June 11-13 and will continue to use the scramble format that it switched to in 2025. Darren Clarke and Ben Crane teamed up to win the title in June.
University Ridge hosted the tournament from its inception in 2016 until it moved to TPC Wisconsin in 2025.
Steve Stricker, probably the biggest name in Wisconsin's golf history, will continue as player-host. The Edgerton native and Madison resident won the event in 2023.
“Hosting this tournament has been one of the great honors of my career,” Stricker said in a statement. “I want to thank the staff and members of TPC Wisconsin for everything they’ve done for the Championship over the past two years.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue hosting the PGA TOUR Champions in Madison, and most importantly, seeing the tremendous charitable impact this tournament has had throughout our communities.”
