Eagles stock report after preseason finale vs. Bengals

The Eagles completed their preseason with a 30-13 loss to the Bengals, giving several roster hopefuls one final opportunity to influence Philadelphia’s decisions.

Here is the stock report from the finale.

Stock up: Carson Steele

Steele continued making his case for a role as Philadelphia’s fullback and reserve running back. He caught eight passes for 52 yards and a touchdown while rushing eight times for 24 yards. His ability to contribute without requiring a traditional rushing workload strengthens his value.

Stock up: Andy Dalton

Dalton steadied the offense after Tanner McKee struggled. The veteran completed 12 of 19 attempts for 104 yards and directed Philadelphia’s only touchdown drive. He saved his strongest stretch for his final preseason appearance.

Stock up: Jake Elliott

Elliott made both field-goal attempts, including a 56-yarder. He accounted for seven of Philadelphia’s 13 points and provided one of the few dependable performances of the night.

Stock up: Dameon Pierce

Pierce received only four carries but turned them into 44 yards. He showed burst through the line and averaged 11 yards per attempt while attempting to force his way into a crowded backfield.

Stock up: Danny Gray

Gray led Philadelphia’s wide receivers with 38 yards on three receptions, including a 26-yard catch from Dalton. His speed gave the offense an element that was largely missing elsewhere.

Stock up: Keyshawn James-Newby

James-Newby recorded Philadelphia’s only sack and added a quarterback hit. The reserve defense struggled overall, but the rookie produced an individual play that will help his evaluation.

Stock down: Tanner McKee

McKee’s 55-yard, one-interception performance was his weakest of the preseason. He averaged 2.5 yards per attempt and was sacked twice. Rather than creating separation in the backup competition, he gave the Eagles more to consider.

Stock down: Quez Watkins

Watkins caught two of five targets for 7 yards. With Danny Gray providing the more explosive performance and Darius Cooper appearing secure, Watkins needed a more productive finale.

Stock down: Reserve run defense

Cincinnati rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 6 yards per attempt. Kentrel Bullock and Jamal Haynes combined for 163 yards on 21 carries.

Stock unchanged: Makai Lemon

Lemon’s three catches produced only 3 yards, and his punt-return opportunity ended with a recovered fumble and no gain. The first-round pick’s night should be evaluated through the lens of getting his first NFL game action after a hamstring injury.
