Here we go: Real Madrid set to sign 21-year-old Ghanaian talent as player completes medical

Real Madrid have been quite busy shoring up the senior team this summer, with the club making no less than six new signings so far.

But the club are equally keen on reinforcing their ranks at RM Castilla, which has witnessed a mass exodus of sorts, with several youngsters leaving for more game time elsewhere.

It was reported earlier this week that Real Madrid are closing in on the capture of defender Oscar Naasei. There has been a key development on that front.

Naasei deal gets the here we go

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now given his customary ‘here we go’ for the Oscar Naasei deal, confirming that the player will indeed join Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have agreed a deal worth €2 million with Naasei’s current team, Granada.

However, it is important to note that Naasei will not immediately join the senior side and is a reinforcement only for the reserve team.

Therefore, he will ply his trade for RM Castilla this season. Romano adds that Naasei has already completed his medical and his move to Valdebebas is only a matter of time.

Real Madrid had faced some stern competition from German clubs in the pursuit of the young Ghanaian, but the club emerged victors at the end.

A centre-back by trade, Naasei is known for his imposing presence at the back and is technically gifted enough to operate at right-back as well.

This makes him a smart investment for RM Castilla, a team that has had to part ways with defensive prospect Victor Valdepenas this summer.

Valdepenas joined Fiorentina on a permanent deal. Naasei, therefore, could serve as a natural replacement.

The 21-year-old, though, will still face some stern competition from some of the talented central defenders in La Fabrica, including Joan Martinez. Diego Aguardo and Lamini Fati, all of whom are potential candidates for the first team in the future.
