In a commanding performance, North Dakota State University (NDSU) triumphed over Fordham University with a decisive score of 38-0 on Saturday. This victory marks a significant milestone for NDSU as they continue their first season competing at the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level, improving their record to 2-0.

Quarterback Nathan Hayes played a pivotal role in the game, completing 18 of 22 passes for 210 yards and throwing two touchdown passes. His scoring strikes included an 8-yard completion to Chris Kiel and a 12-yard connection with Mekhi Collins. The Bison's offensive unit demonstrated efficiency, accumulating a total of 373 yards, with 128 yards coming from their rushing attack.

Running back DJ Scott contributed significantly to the Bison's offensive success, rushing for 60 yards and scoring two touchdowns on runs of 3 and 7 yards. The balanced offensive display allowed NDSU to control the game and maintain a comfortable lead throughout.

Defensively, North Dakota State put forth an impressive effort, limiting Fordham to just 135 total yards. The highlight of the defensive performance was a 37-yard interception return for a touchdown by Marion Moore, which extended the Bison's lead to 24-0 just one minute into the second half. This play underscored NDSU's ability to capitalize on mistakes and maintain pressure on their opponents.

Fordham struggled offensively, with quarterback Gunnar Smith facing challenges throughout the game. He threw three interceptions, including one during a late drive that ended in an interception at the NDSU 20-yard line. Despite the team's difficulties, linebacker Andrew Osmun stood out defensively for Fordham, recording 13 total tackles, seven of which were solo, along with one sack and three tackles for loss.

With this victory, North Dakota State has solidified its position as a formidable contender in the FBS, showcasing both offensive and defensive strengths. The Bison will look to carry this momentum into their next game against Air Force on Saturday, while Fordham will aim to rebound as they prepare to face Coastal Carolina on the same day.
