Shedeur Sanders, the Cleveland Browns quarterback, recently addressed concerns regarding a blister on his throwing hand that had been the subject of speculation. During a press conference on Wednesday, Sanders confirmed that he had indeed dealt with a blister this offseason, but reassured fans that it is no longer an issue.

"No, that happened this past offseason getting back into it, just from throwing a lot," Sanders explained. He clarified that the blister was a minor setback at the beginning of training camp, stating, "Honestly, that’s where it came from. And it’s all headed up now. But that was a thing, I would say, at the start of training camp and everything that we just had to work through and be able to figure out." This indicates that the young quarterback has been proactive in managing his health as he prepares for the upcoming season.

As the Browns gear up for their first preseason game against the Chicago Bears on Saturday, Sanders is anticipated to receive significant playing time. This game is crucial for him as he competes with veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson for the starting position heading into the 2026 season. The competition is expected to be intense, as both quarterbacks will be looking to make a strong impression on the coaching staff and fans alike.

Sanders, who had a promising rookie season, played in eight games, starting seven of them. He completed 56.6 percent of his passes, accumulating 1,400 yards, along with seven touchdowns and ten interceptions. His performance last season showcased his potential but also highlighted areas for improvement, particularly in reducing turnovers.

The upcoming preseason provides Sanders with an opportunity to refine his skills and demonstrate his readiness to lead the Browns' offense. With the pressure of competing for a starting role, every snap will be critical for his development and confidence as he transitions into his second year in the league.

As the Browns prepare for their matchup against the Bears, fans will be eager to see how Sanders performs without the distraction of his previous injury. His ability to stay healthy and perform at a high level will be essential for the Browns as they aim to build on their previous season and make a push for the playoffs in 2026.
