Well, at least he brought receipts.

Within an hour after withdrawing from his main event fight against Mike Perry, controversial grappler Dillon Danis revealed the gruesome injury that forced him off Duel Arena 1 this weekend (Sat., Aug. 29, 2026) inside Kia Center in Orlando, Florida.

Danis posted an extremely graphic video on Instagram showing a deep laceration on his arm being cleaned and stitched closed by medical professionals.

“Shit happens in the fight game,” Danis wrote. “Beyond disappointed.”

Danis did not reveal how or exactly when the injury occurred. Nevertheless, the wound was clearly severe enough to prevent him from competing just two days before the event.

News of Danis’ withdrawal was first announced by Perry during Thursday’s pre-fight press conference. “Platinum” did not know the reason at the time and absolutely unloaded on his now-former opponent.

“This p—y-ass b—h Dillon Danis didn’t show the f—k up,” Perry said. “He’s not here. He backed the f—k out because he’s a p—y.”

Perry will remain atop Duel Arena 1 against former UFC and MVP MMA veteran Brandon Jenkins, who accepted the fight on approximately 48 hours’ notice.

Danis now must wait to make his latest return. The former Bellator fighter has not competed in MMA since submitting Warren Spencerin just 15 seconds in Aug. 2025.

Given Danis’ unreliable history, fight fans understandably expected the worst when news of his withdrawal broke. This time, however, the footage shows that “El Jefe” had a legitimate—and extremely nasty—reason for pulling out.
